BookQuest (“we”, “us”) is a gamified book-learning app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email support@bookquest.club.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address (for sign-in). If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture from Google.
- Profile: a display name / username you choose, and an optional avatar.
- Learning activity: your progress through books and levels, quiz answers and scores, points, badges, streaks, concept mastery, and any books you request or upvote.
- Technical basics: a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the app — save your progress, grade quizzes, award points and badges.
- To show the public leaderboard, which displays your display name and total points to other users. Your email is never shown publicly.
- To respond to support requests and improve the content and experience.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small set of service providers to operate the app:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.
AI is used by our team to draft book content; your personal learning data is not sent to AI providers as part of normal use.
Your choices
- You can edit your display name / username anytime from your profile.
- You can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing support@bookquest.club. We'll action deletion requests within a reasonable time.
Children
BookQuest is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll revise the date above when we do.
